I'll be honest - originally I intended to have these paintings up on my site months ago but between family vacation and my grandfather passing away, things went off the rails. I've also been working on another big project (to be announced at a later date) that's been taking up a lot of my time. Last night I finally just got it done!
Les Belle Fleurs is a collection of abstract flower paintings. I've never had much of a green thumb but I love flowers so as Frida Kahlo said:
I paint flowers so they will not die.
When I was young I loved my grandparents garden. Unlike me, my grandfather had a green thumb and I loved to spend time in their yard on the swing, admiring the irises, tulips, lilacs and peonies. (I thought it was so fascinating to watch the ants on the peony buds!) That's why I decided to dedicate this collection to my late grandfather.
